Saturday 20th July
Thankfully, Julie was much better today, and the weather had cooled significantly, making it easier to tolerate the queasiness. So........
We went on a boat on the Thames! Here we are going past Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich
The Millennium Dome (O2 Arena)
The Thames Barrier (gates between each of these structures prevent the city from flooding during big spring tides
A closer look at these engineering marvels
Passing a disused power station. It's a very grey looking day.
This evening we went for a BBQ at Fiona and Leann's place. Lisa and Iain, Michael and Harry have been travelling to Oxford and staying in a castle (where you can park your helicopter on the front lawn!) and yesterday they went to see the second Ashes Test at Lords, but we won't talk about the cricket.

Sian has been a witness at a wedding and gave a reading at a baptism today.
Mmmmm chip'n'dip. We all have an appetite tonight
Yummy chocolate tart with fresh raspberries and double thick cream. Best meal I've had all week
The Syrette girls after a lovely evening of good food and much carousing.
Sian got the last train home with just minutes to spare and made it back to her house before we even got back to the hotel room (and we are right next to the station).
