DAY 9 Splice the mainbrace! we're at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich

Wednesday 17th July

Today we took it easy because Julie is still a bit rough. We went to the nearby Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. There was plenty to see here but not before a restorative lunch.
Julie is feeling well enough to try some lunch at the Meantime Cafe and Brewery

The Painted Hall at ORNC Greenwich - an extremely ornately painted dining room

I feel like I could be in a Harry Potter movie

Giving a back-hander to the artist responsible

Next we visited the National Maritime Museum ( Julie spent most of the time sitting in the wonderfully air conditioned Arctic exploration exhibit!

Bulldog figurehead (but from this angle looks like comparethemeerkat.com, which is a very popular advertising campaign here too, to the extent that they have plush toys available)

The exhibit about the history of the British tea trade - my very own genealogy trip!

A very interesting trip to Greenwich museums, will try to get to the Observatory another day, but for now it is back to bed for one of my companions.
